Job Description

SCOPE: Aspire Health Partners is a recognized leader in behavioral health care nationally. Formed four years ago from the merger of three organizations, Aspire’s mission is to provide the people of Central Florida with compassionate, comprehensive, and cost-effective behavioral health care services that lead to successful living and the ability to achieve and maintain healthy, responsible lifestyles. Aspire now has annual revenue of nearly $100 million and serves a growing population across Central Florida.

 

A new strategic plan calls for the development of philanthropic support from individuals and foundations in order to further achieve Aspire’s mission. Aspire has created a new position, Vice President of Philanthropy, in order to help establish this program.

 

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Vice President of Philanthropy will provide leadership and vision for Aspire Health Partners’ new philanthropic initiatives, including launching individual and planned giving programs and other fund development large-scale initiatives, creating and implementing strategies that will ensure institutional success, and establishing a culture of philanthropy at the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop a robust stream of philanthropic support for Aspire
  • Manage the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Aspire Health Partners top individual, family foundation, and institutional prospects and donors
  • Proactively recruit philanthropy volunteers, as well as motivate the President/ CEO, senior staff, and other stakeholders to participate in long- and short-term strategies for fundraising
  • Guide and participate personally in the cultivation and solicitation of major gifts for annual, programmatic, capital, and planned giving initiatives, managing a portfolio of the organization’s top philanthropy prospects
  • Build and oversee a Philanthropy Department, hiring high performers, setting clear performance expectations, and motivating the team
  • Oversee the maintenance, integrity, analysis, and integration of prospect and donor data, the establishment and updating of revenue goals and forecasts, and the preparation and monitoring of reports and revenue and expense budgets
  • Serve on Aspire’s management leadership team
  • Enhance Aspire’s relationships locally, regionally, and nationally

OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITEED TO:

  1. Attend and participate in meetings and partnership groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain a high level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
  2. Perform or assist with departmental operations as required or directed to maintain workflow or respond to emergency conditions.
  3. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition. Ensure safe operating conditions within area of responsibility. Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum ten years in philanthropy leadership
  • Soliciting and closing gifts at the six- and seven-figure levels
  • Managing successful major gifts, planned giving, and/or capital programs
  • Motivating the fundraising activities of boards, high-level volunteers, and senior and philanthropy staff
  • Highly self-motivated, metrics-driven, and goal-oriented, with an entrepreneurial outlook
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in a large matrixed not-for-profit organization a plus
