Job Description

As Lead Phlebotomist/MHT for all locations within Aspire Health Partners, with the partition your job purpose will be to provide a multitude of duties in order to effectively enter data and prepare collected blood samples by the use of aseptic and sterilized techniques, following infection prevention and safety precautions. These functions include – but are not limited to – obtaining blood specimens by performing venipuncture’s and/or finger sticks, verifying patient identity, tracking, processing, documenting and collecting specimens, performing urine drug screens and pregnancy tests following CLIA Waiver Testing procedures, establishing trust and confidence with patient while explaining procedure, preparing written and computerized reports and setting up appointments. Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures. 

Lead Phlebotomist duties:

1. Performs and/or coordinates all laboratory administrative and clerical activities including overseeing payroll of phlebotomist staff in the ADP system.

2. Calculates and reviews all Lab Corp and laboratory invoices and prepare payment reimbursement for the Finance Dept.

3. Supervises and trains Phlebotomist staff. Participates in or performs hiring, discipline, training and performance evaluations.

4. Develops laboratory systems and operating policies and procedures and insures they are operating in an effective, and correct manner.

5. Identifies and implements needed improvements.

6. Serves as an assistant to the Infection Prevention Nurse Manager in ll CLIA Wave requirements including orientation and maintenance of Glucometers processes.

Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Position qualifications: Ability to receive and maintain a(n)

  • Level II Background clearance
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver’s license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by the Aspire insurance company as described in the AHP Corporate Transportation Policy 3.9.1

Requirement:

  • High School or GED
  • Certification in Phlebotomist
  • 1-3 years experience preferred
