Job Description

Demonstrates the ability to provide direct nursing care to clients

  1. Demonstrates the ability to maintain a leadership role and assists/directs behavioral intervention for agitated, combative and aggressive clients.
  2. Demonstrates the ability to identify and assess client psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious needs.
  3. Demonstrates knowledge of actions, side effects and contraindications of all medications administered.
  4. Demonstrates the ability to administer client medications according to appropriate Standards of Care, in an effort to minimize medication errors.

Demonstrates the ability to provide client education related to medications, disease processes and activities of daily living (ADL’s).

  1. Demonstrates the ability to document client treatment progress, condition changes and thoroughly complete required paperwork in a timely manner according to appropriate Standards of Care and organizational policies and procedures.
  2. Demonstrates the ability to assist physicians with coordinating client care including accurate transcription and implementation of physician orders.
  3. Demonstrates the ability to complete all required in-service training requirements before annual review and maintain licensure compliance.
  4. Provides service coordination for assigned caseload (case management)
  5. Provides supervision to FACT Team Nursing staff; and regularly reviews client’s individual treatment plans activities written by the staff.
  6. Manages all administrative tasks as the Office Nurse.
  7. Coordinates with Princeton Pharmacy and other community pharmacies to ensure that all medication prescribed by team psychiatrist are accurate and processed in timely fashion. 
  8. Coordinates and maintains the medication schedule and completes all necessary prior authorizations for medications.
  9. Ensures that the medication room remains within the standards set by the program contract, policies and procedures, state and local laws.
  10. Assist nursing staff with the following: administration of medication, provide client education related to medications, disease processes and activities of daily living(ADL’s), and coordinate/facilitate monthly nursing meetings.
  11. Coordinate monthly nursing groups with nursing staff.
  12. Provide direct, face-to-face and/or collateral services to recipients either in FACT Office or in the community in places and situations where problems arise.
  13. Responsible for providing Assessment and Service Planning, Quarterly Assurance and Improvement Processes, Peer/Compliance Review, incident reporting and coordination between FACT and other systems.
  14. In absence of Team Leader, direct and supervise staff activities, lead team organizational and service planning meetings and provide direction to staff regarding individual cases.

Job Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Florida Licensed. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.
