Job Description

MISSION STATEMENT

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Responsible for the daily operations of the assigned inpatient programs.
• Assures that all client care focuses on individual recovery.
• Assures that all client care documentation supports the individual treatment plan.

REQUIRED ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide a Therapeutic Milieu
• Conduct Monthly Staff Meetings/Staff Education/in-services
• Monitor Staff Performance/Appearance/Training/Development/Professionalism
• Monitor Treatment Planning and Documentation
• Monitor Program Operations
• Monitor Program Appearance/Maintenance and implement changes as needed
• Evaluate staff Compliance related to maintaining Legal Status for all clients with Matching D/C Planning
• Maintains Program Safety/Corporate Compliance
• Participates in ongoing management of Budgetary expenditures
• Participates in ongoing involvement in Program Growth and Improvement
• Performs all other Functions as Assigned

Job Requirements

Minimum Education:           

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing or Higher    

Minimum Work Experience

• Five Years or equivalent previous background in areas of Nursing Supervision

* Two of experience in Substance Abuse or Mental Health nursing 

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing or Higher

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Must have knowledge of Quality Improvement, supervision/healthcare administration, direct hands on skills, CPR and basic word processing skills.  
• Demonstrates leadership abilities, accepts responsibility, exercises authority, functions independently, possess effective writing skills and verbal communication.
• Articulates knowledge of general staffing requirements, theory and practice; applies principles in daily program staff scheduling, demonstrates knowledge of hospital organizational structure including P&P’s.
• Demonstrates interest and willingness to teach.
• Must work well with others using tact and diplomacy.
• Exhibits good conduct and grooming as a representative of acute care nursing management.
• Possesses insight for employee potential growth and development and demonstrates ability to do effective, impartial counseling as set forth by the company P&P’s.
• Demonstrates ability to obtain and analyze facts and apply sound judgment independently.  
• Possesses knowledge, competence and expertise to perform essential nursing functions including infection control, universal precautions and MSDS requirements.  
• Must participate in annual competency testing and complete 9 required training modules for Co-Occurring Disorders.
