Job Description

Job Purpose: This Peer Specialist position will support the First Episode Psychosis Team: NAVIGATE. As Peer Specialist at Aspire Health Partners, your job purpose will be to provide a multitude of essential functions regarding assistance of clients in a non-restrictive environment. These functions include – but are not limited to –assist their peers in articulating their goals for recovery, learning and practicing new skills, helping them monitor their progress, assisting them in their treatment, modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies based on the specialist’s own recovery experience and supporting them in advocating for themselves to obtain effective services, completing all necessary documentation and records and communicating effectively verbally and in written format. Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Position qualifications: Ability to receive and maintain a(n)

  • Level II Background clearance
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver’s license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by Aspire insurance company as described in the AHP Corporate Transportation Policy 3.9.1
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be eligible for certification as, Certified Recovery Support Specialist within 1 year of employment, certified preferred

 

Other qualifications: Have progressed in their own recovery from alcohol or other drug abuse or mental disorder and is willing to self –identify as a peer
