Job Description

Job Purpose:

Establish and document purchasing procedures and policy. Maintain awareness of markets and material supplies as well as alternative sources of supply. Locate and interview potential vendors. Obtain quotes, negotiate price, delivery and terms and conditions of purchases and develop purchase agreements and contracts to consolidate purchasing efforts. Supervise the ordering of standard operating supplies and materials, review purchase orders, monitor delivery, review and authorize invoices for payments.  Be cognizant of contracts and purchasing requirements of various governmental agencies in the organization’s network.  Interview, hire, train, schedule, assign, instruct and monitor the work of staff engaged in the purchasing process.  Routinely interact with staff from all departments to identify unique purchasing needs and develop processes to resolve those needs.  Provide price quotations as needed for budgetary and grant proposal efforts.  Develop and oversee the archiving and storage procedure of the organizations documents and files in accordance with agency policy and related regulations.  May be required to do occasional lifting or moving average weight material in difficult work positions. Develop partnerships for the acquisition of equipment, furniture and materials. Network with and maintain frequent contact with partners.

Job Requirements


Position qualifications: Ability to receive and maintain a(n)

  • Level II Background clearance
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver’s license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by Aspire insurance company as described in the AHP Corporate Transportation Policy 3.9.1
  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in experience, and at least five years of experience in purchasing in an institutional or social service setting. Additionally requires at least three years of supervisory experience. Physical effort may require occasional lifting or moving average weight material in difficult work positions. Requires valid State of Florida Driver’s License and State required insurance.

Other qualifications: Requires knowledge of purchasing, warehousing, and distribution systems, policies, procedures and related regulations as well as date management systems and techniques. Requires the ability to read and interpret written contracts & information and communicate verbally and in writing where information includes precise date and terminology, possibly of a confidential nature. Further requires the equivalent of a full four-year college level degree program in business administration from an accredited college or university, and at least five years of experience in purchasing in an institutional or social service setting. Additionally requires at least on year of supervisory experience.

 

Salary: $47,500/yr.
